I think it’s changed over the last few years. It might be cd4108 case that some manufacturers produce the buffered version -Bbut mark the actual devices without the B.

I can find the datasheet for CDB types and CD types but dattasheet don’t seem to reference each other. Have you checked the datasheet? Further suffix letters 2nd, 3rd, I think it’s pretty safe to say that the CD number is the generic number, not caring about specific properties like buffered outputs, just the basic logic function.

If dstasheet manufacture you are using doesn’t provide a datasheet to you, then you shouldn’t be using them. The buffered outputs are able to source or sink more current than the unbuffered outputs, thus eliminating the need for discrete switching transistors in some designs.
