The Ghazals are written in Reekhta the then spoken Urdu language Those who can read Urdu script should, if they haven’t already read Ghalib, make their way to him quickly and read slowly, savouring the I read this years ago and have since been in complete awe of Ghalib.

A plus point of this collection is that it has a poem-by-poem glossary of the Farsi words used, now unintelligible to most of us. And that makes up for understanding and appreciating Ghalib in a better way. No trivia or quizzes yet.
