Aspects of this book were really excellent. The book starts strongly and with the fast pace and strong characters somehow gets better. It was a triptych, three canvases hinged together to make one image when it was open, another image when it was closed. Slaughter starts off by knitting an intricate cable knit sweater but often forgets the stitch, switches shades of yarn or in some cases even leaves some areas incomplete.
Leaving behind a tortured past, Angie has made a life for herself, but she still finds it difficult to have normal relationships.
I’m not drooling all over myself like I did for Pretty Girls the first Karin Slaughter novel I’d ever read, excuse me, I’m so sorry but I’m definitely feeling like a Serbian who just won a gold medal for water polo at the summer Olympics. I’ve been feeling on the edge of vomiting from page one, and Will’s chapters were the only ones that could bring a tiny smile on my face.

Triptyh help us recommend your next book, tell us what you enjoy reading. Will is a VERY interesting character. Just like my first foray with Karin Slaughter thanks to Pretty GirlsI once again come away from my reading adventure with hearts in my eyes. Slaughter has the courage to detonate her biggest bombshells early on, keeping even the wariest readers off-balance.
These characters are flawed, complicated, and have more layers than the triple decker cake I cut at my wedding. Karin Slaughter has always been and always will be one of my favourite authors, her writing is so professional, polished and she certainly knows how to pack a punch.
